On November 25,2024, the Hong Kong China Network Security Association (HKCNSA) was invited to participate in a seminar at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. The event was attended by Mr. David Ip, Founding Chairman of the association, Mr. Michael Cheung, Director of the association’s Cybersecurity Standards Committee, and Mr. Barry Wong, Director of the association’s Talent Development and Education Committee. They shared insights on financial and cybersecurity topics with students from the university's FinTech program, aiming to enhance young talents' understanding of industry trends.

The event began with a speech by Mr. Michael Cheung, who introduced the basic concepts of cybersecurity and analyzed the new legislative environment and technical challenges facing the industry, such as potential cyberattacks driven by artificial intelligence. He emphasized the critical role of cybersecurity in the financial sector and the potential risks posed by talent shortages. Additionally, Mr. Zhang shared the key skills required for cybersecurity professionals and provided practical advice on how to prepare for a career in the field, inspiring students to think about their future career paths.

Mr. Barry Wong also delivered a speech, introducing the background, development history, and future direction of HKCNSA. He highlighted the association's commitment to promoting cybersecurity education and talent development since its inception, aiming to supply more outstanding talents to Hong Kong's cybersecurity industry to meet the ever-changing challenges. He encouraged more young people to join the cybersecurity field to build a more robust digital environment.

During the interactive session, students actively asked questions about the application of cybersecurity in the financial sector, career development prospects, and relevant skills learning. The association's guests patiently answered, providing detailed information and case studies, offering valuable career planning advice to the students. At the end of the event, Hong Kong Shue Yan University presented a banner to the association, demonstrating the university's emphasis and support for cybersecurity education. The association hopes to strengthen cooperation with the university in the future to jointly cultivate high-quality cybersecurity talents.
As the cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, the industry faces severe challenges due to talent shortages.
