Hong Kong, December 14, 2023 - The “Cybersecurity Symposium 2023”, co-hosted by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC), and supported by the Hong Kong China Network Security Association (HKCNSA), was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre today. The founding chairman of HKCNSA, Mr. David Ip, led several individual members, consultant members, and corporate members of HKCNSA, including 360 Digital Security, DAS-Security, and Z-One Consulting, to attend the forum.
The conference was opened by Professor SUN Dong, Director of the Innovation and Technology Bureau. Professor Sun pointed out that Hong Kong is actively promoting the development of the digital economy and smart city, and the government, enterprises, institutions, and even ordinary citizens have increasingly high demands for cybersecurity. China’s “14th Five-Year Plan” clearly supports Hong Kong’s construction of an international innovation and technology center, and cybersecurity is the key to ensuring this goal is achieved. The Innovation and Technology Bureau just released the “Hong Kong Policy Declaration on Promoting Data Circulation and Protecting Data Security” last week, proposing a total of 18 specific measures in five categories, including strengthening cybersecurity protection, in order to better coordinate development and security and support the development of Hong Kong’s innovation and technology, digital economy, and smart city.
Mr. Felix KAN, CEO and co-founder of Cyberbay, a corporate member of the association, gave a keynote speech on “Towards Secure and Trustworthy Crowdsourcing for Digital World”. Mr. Dicky WONG, Vice President of the Association and Head of Technology Risk of New World Development, and Mr. LIU Li Ming, a corporate member of the association and Chief Financial Expert of 360 Digital Security Group, etc., conducted a panel discussion on “Securing Critical Data of the Organization”.
The forum successfully brought together experts and scholars from various industries to discuss the latest trends and challenges in cybersecurity and share their valuable insights and experiences. HKCNSA look forward to continuing to promote this meaningful exchange in the future and jointly contribute to the enhancement of cybersecurity.
