HKCNSA Public Speaking Workshop Successfully Held, Exploring New Paradigms in Workplace Communication

On April 16, 2025, the Hong Kong China Network Security Association (HKCNSA), in collaboration with corporate member Evershed Sutherland, successfully hosted the "Unlocking Communication Excellence for Career Empowerment" workshop at the Evershed Sutherland Hong Kong office. The event aimed to enhance participants' communication skills and support their career development, attracting industry experts and corporate management personnel.



The workshop was led by renowned TV host, professional trilingual emcee, and public speaking coach Ms. Xaviera Yau. She shared her extensive experience in public speaking and communication, including strategic use of speech content, tone, gestures, rhythm, and pauses, providing valuable communication skills and career development advice to the attendees. Ms. Yau emphasized the importance of effective communication in career development, noting that strong communication skills can enhance personal professional image, foster team collaboration, and drive corporate growth.

During the event, Ms. Silvia Ihensekhien, HKCNSA Vice Chairlady and Director of Information Security and Risk Management at Swire Coca-Cola, , along with Ms. Frankie Tam, Partner of Eversheds Sutherland, shared their insights on public speaking. Ms. Ihensekhien highlighted the importance of clear and effective communication in project management and team collaboration within the information security field. Ms. Tam shared her communication strategies in the legal field, particularly how precise expression and effective communication can achieve consensus in complex cases.

In the interactive session, Ms. Yau used real-life cases and simulations to help participants master effective communication techniques for various scenarios. She particularly emphasized how clear expression and active listening can build trust and influence in the workplace. Participants actively engaged in the interaction, sharing many issues encountered in their work and exchanging solutions and experiences.




The successful holding of this workshop enhanced the participants' communication skills and provided them with beneficial support for their career development. The HKCNSA will continue to organize more similar events, building more high-quality learning and exchange platforms for members, further strengthening industry exchanges and cooperation, and promoting the development of cybersecurity and information security endeavors.
