HKCNSA joins OT Cybersecurity Summit, strengthening Hong Kong’s Critical Infrastructure Resilience

On November 21 2025, as Hong Kong’s new Protection of Critical Infrastructure (Computer Systems) Bill will take effect in January 2026, the OT Cybersecurity Summit: Building Resilience In Your Critical Operation, hosted by EY and supported by the Hong Kong China Network Security Association (HKCNSA) concluded successfully.


The summit focused on the security of operational technology (OT) systems, which underpin critical infrastructure such as in energy, transportation and public services. Experts from government agencies, technology firms, and cybersecurity organizations examined how the new legislation will affect Hong Kong’s CI industry.

Mr. David Ip, Founding Chairman of the Association, Vice-chairlady Silvia Ihensekhien and Vice-chairman Wilson Tang joined representatives from Huawei, Nozomi Networks, DarkNavy and other institutions. Together, they discussed strategies for protecting infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.

Panelists explored common OT/IoT security challenges and solutions of infrastructural protection in Hong Kong, as well as the development of future-proof OT Security regarding AI & Cloud Connectivity. Guests noted that if the security controls of OT systems fail or equipment is damaged, it could lead to serious accidents, highlighting the urgency in establishing a robust defense framework.

Moving forward, HKCNSA will continue to strengthen collaboration with global industry leaders, integrating policy and technology to strengthen Hong Kong’s role in global digital resilience.
